Workshop | Psychology of the mental block: Roles of the coach in aiding performance

A one off workshop addressing the ‘Psychology of the mental block and roles of the coach in aiding performance’ will be taking place at the Cardiff Metropolitan University – one of the Trampoline & DMT League’s venue partners.

This workshop will focus on developing an understanding of the psychological factors that lead to mental blocks in gymnasts. Further, emphasis will be placed on the role of the coach in helping athletes to deal with, recover from and prevent mental blocks from occurring. Specifically, the workshop will seek to enhance: (a) understanding of mental blocks – their triggers, symptoms, and impact on performance; and (b) how coaches can work with gymnasts to prevent and/or overcome mental blocks.

Cost: £30 WG members, £40 non-WG members

Lead Tutor: Dr Brendan Cropley , Principle Lecturer in Sport Coaching and Sport Psychology at Cardiff Metropolitan University
